In addition, students are provided with financial support for attending conferences, professional development, and summer research projects. These graduate assistantships also provide PhD students with opportunities to gain the experience necessary for honing research and teaching skills by closely working with the department's faculty.

Research of the department's faculty covers a broad range of topics in the fields of strategic management and organizational behavior/human resource management research, including research on corporate governance, executive compensation and succession, firm entry decisions, gender & diversity, international management, leadership, nascent industries and technologies, organizational justice & ethics, organization theory, personality and individual differences, research methods, strategy practices, workplace mistreatment, and teams.
