I am looking to appoint a full-time senior postdoctoral researcher for 2 years to work with me at the University of Queensland Business School on a social theory approach to the secondary risks arising from climate-induced disasters and how they are reconfiguring insurability.

The successful applicant will contribute to a substantive research program on how insurance markets can move towards a societal approach to sharing the growing risk of extreme weather disasters that are arising from climate change and the potential secondary risks that these disasters give rise to; for example, radicalisation and terrorist attack.

This exciting opportunity is co-sponsored by Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation and will involve working closely with industry partners and developing both academic papers and also impact from this research. Applications close on 8th February. Please note that, because of travel restrictions during Covid-19, only people with an existing right to work in Australia either because of citizenship, residency, or because they are already in receipt of a 482 visa can be appointed. Please share with those eligible.
