Announcements

  • Welcome to the SAP IG on Connect@AOM!

    Hi everyone,

on behalf of the executive team, I welcome you to the Strategizing Activities and Practices Interest Group's (SAP IG) web presence on Connect@AOM. It's been a month since the IG's website and listserv migrated as part of AOM's digital strategy. According to this strategy, the Academy aims to renew and bundle the communication technologies in use. The Membership Secretary and the Social Media Committee have worked hard to make this transition as smooth as possible. Furthermore, the design of the web presence would not look as appealing as it does without the generous sponsorship by David Seidl. We thank everyone involved in making this transition look easy for their support!

We warmly invite you to visit sap.aom.org, a site that bundles essential information about the SAP IG with key communication technologies that enable you to post announcements, share events (workshop, CfP deadlines, etc.), watch SAP webinars, browse current and former SAP newsletters, and much more. Here’s a quick overview of the key features of sap.aom.org.

    Conversation
“Conversation” has replaced the former SAP Listserv. There, you can browse the SAP Listserv history and post new announcements that you would like to share with the SAP community.

    Events
“Events” is a calendar that displays relevant SAP events of different types, such as meetings, calls for papers, and workshops. If you would like to inform the SAP community about such events, you can post these events there.

    SAP Vlog
The “SAP Vlog” (Video + blog = Vlog) is a new initiative. In this series, we publish 5–10 min interviews with authors of work that has extended our understanding of the practice of strategy-making. Such interviews provide viewers with behind-the-scenes insights into the origins and developments of the ideas that these works advance, as well as retrospective reflections on the timeliness and reception of these ideas in contemporary discourses. If you would like to create and publish a vlog post, you find instructions on the respective site.

    Notification Settings
Similar to the former listserv technology, posts in “Conversation” and “Events” are sent out to all members of the SAP community via email. A key benefit of Connect@AOM over former technologies is the more fine-grained, personalized management of notification settings. This allows you to adjust the frequency and form of notifications to your individual preferences: real time (immediate email after each post), daily digest, weekly digest, no email notifications.
To check and adjust your notification settings,
    • Go to https://connect.aom.org/ and click on your profile picture
    • Click on “My Account” and select “Community Notifications”
    • Scroll down and select your notification preferences from the drop-down menu.

Connect@AOM is a collective journey. Please feel free to join the "Conversation", add "Events", and share a "Vlog”! Again, welcome to SAP's online community on Connect@AOM. Please do not hesitate to contact me for inquiries.

    Best,
    Matthias Wenzel
