You are cordially invited to submit a proposal for a special Strategic Management Review (SMR) event, which will be held at Warwick Business School, London (Level 13, The Shard, London Bridge, SE1 9SG). The meeting will take place on Wednesday 21st September, 2022 from 10am to 4pm.

    Purpose and Agenda

The event will be an idea/paper development workshop that is geared toward PhD students, junior scholars, and senior scholars who are interested in publishing in SMR. The hope is that this workshop will help participants develop well-crafted manuscripts suitable for submission to SMR. The workshop will provide insights from authors and editors on what makes a successful SMR paper and strategies for developing a contribution for SMR. Participants will present their proposals and get feedback and advice from SMR authors and editors.

Currently, faculty members supporting the workshop include Janet Bercovitz (Colorado), Emilie Feldman (Wharton), Nicolai Foss (Copenhagen), Michael Leiblein (Ohio State), Sotirios Paroutis (Warwick), and Jeff Reuer (Colorado).

Registration information: If you have a suitable paper proposal, please send details to Sotirios Paroutis <Sotirios.Paroutis@wbs.ac.uk> by 1st June.  In order to participate you will need to register your interest at your earliest convenience, and before 1st June to Sotirios to assist in planning for the event.

    About SMR:

The SMR publishes ideas that matter for strategic management research. Specifically, the SMR features provocative essays and forward-looking reviews to guide the questions tackled by research in the field. The journal complements existing strategic management outlets that emphasize empirical research, and it aims to promote insights on core questions in the strategic management field through impactful essays. These essays can take many forms, including (a) essays on the theoretical foundations of strategic management and the theoretical perspectives emanating from the field, (b) scholarly exchanges, (c) thought pieces dealing with managerial practice or public policy, (d) methodological primers on advances relevant for strategic management research, (e) state-of-the-art reviews or research retrospectives, and (f) forward-looking literature critiques. Prospective authors are encouraged to consult the journal's website (https://www.strategicmanagementreview.net/) and join the SMR's LinkedIn community (https://www.linkedin.com/groups/12074453/) for additional information

We look forward to seeing you all at the WBS London campus at the Shard.
