    The Department of Management at Louisiana State University (LSU) is seeking highly qualified domestic and international applicants for our PhD program in management, which includes both a Strategic Management and an Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management track.

    The department's culture and faculty are highly research oriented and collegial. The primary mission of the PhD program is to develop future academics who will conduct and publish excellent scholarly research in the broad domain of management and who are highly qualified to teach in a university environment.

    Admitted students are offered full funding through graduate assistantships for up to five years of PhD studies that include a competitive stipend, a tuition waiver, summer research stipends, a subsidized health insurance plan, as well as a budget for professional development and attending conferences. Graduate assistantships also provide PhD students with opportunities to gain the experience necessary for honing research and teaching skills by closely working with the department's research faculty.

    The department's faculty conducts and publishes research on a broad range of topics in the fields of strategic management and organizational behavior/human resource management.     Specific areas of research by current faculty and PhD students include (but are not limited to) gender & diversity, firm entry decisions, international management, leadership, interfirm-relationships, workplace consequences of obesity, executive compensation, nascent industries and technologies, organizational justice & ethics, first mover advantages, competitive dynamics, personality and individual differences, gender backlash, qualitative and quantitative research methods, strategy practices, workplace mistreatment, innovation, and teams.

    LSU is located in Baton Rouge and in proximity to New Orleans, both cities with vibrant local business communities as well as numerous cultural and recreational amenities that enhance the quality of life for area residents.
