    Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics

    The Management Area in the Department of Business Administration invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning September 2017. (Although primarily intended as an assistant professor position, exceptional candidates at other ranks may be considered.) Primary qualifications include outstanding research potential and strong teaching ability. Candidates must hold a doctorate in Management or a closely related field, or be ABD with completion expected prior to joining the faculty.  

    The primary teaching area for the position is in macro-oriented topics (strategy/organization theory, including organizational design and development) at the undergraduate and graduate level. Research interests should be broadly supportive of the general teaching area.

    Salary, benefits, and support are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.  Support for research is excellent, including a one-semester third-year research sabbatical, a large computerized behavioral lab and departmental subject pool, the availability of research and teaching assistants, access to databases (e.g., WRDS), and opportunities to apply for research grants.     The University of Delaware is located on an attractive campus in Newark, Delaware, roughly an hour from Philadelphia and Baltimore, and just over two hours from New York City and Washington, D.C.  The University of Delaware is a state-assisted institution with a strong private endowment and selective admissions. The student body includes more than 17,000 undergraduate and 3,500 graduate students. The Management area in the Department of Business Administration is part of the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, which serves approximately 2,800 undergraduate majors and more than 600 graduate students.  The Lerner College supports full-time, part-time, on-site corporate, and on-line MBA programs in addition to MS programs in functional business areas and non-degree executive education programs.   All degree programs are fully accredited by the AACSB.  The college is housed in a three-building complex with state-of-the-art computing and teaching facilities.  For more information on the Lerner College, see lerner.udel.edu.

    Review of applications will begin July 11, 2016 and continue until the position is filled. Application materials will be shared with department faculty.  Preliminary interviews may be conducted during the August 2016 Academy of Management meeting in Anaheim.
