The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is anticipating hiring two Tenure-Track or Tenured Faculty positions
(1) James & Natalie Haslam Professorship in Innovation & Entrepreneurship
(2) Assistant Professor of Strategic Management or Organization Theory
The University of Tennessee's Haslam College of Business invites applications for (1) the James & Natalie Haslam Distinguished Professorship in Innovation & Entrepreneurship and (2) an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management and/or Organization Theory. The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University. Both positions reside in the Department of Management. The effective dates of employment will be August 1, 2016, or when filled. Compensation will be competitive.
Anticipated Qualifications for James & Natalie Haslam Distinguished Professorship
A Ph.D. from an accredited institution with a foundation and interest in innovation, entrepreneurship, and/or strategic management. An active research and publication record in top-tier journals in the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship, or strategic management that will warrant appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor, as well as a history of high-quality teaching.
Anticipated Qualifications for Assistant Professor of Strategic Management or Organization Theory
A Ph.D. from an accredited institution with a foundation in strategic management, organization theory, and/or a related academic specialty. An active research and publication record in top-tier journals, and a history of high-quality teaching.
Haslam College of Business and Department Background
The Haslam family provided a $50 million naming gift to the College of Business Administration in 2014. The Haslam College of Business is AACSB accredited, with over 130 faculty serving approximately 5,500 undergraduate and graduate students. Classes are taught in the state-of-the-art James A. Haslam II Business Building, which opened in 2009.
The Department of Management offers two undergraduate degrees, a master's degree in human resource management, a minor in entrepreneurship, and the Ph.D. degree in Organizations & Strategy. Departmental faculty members include Russell Crook, Terry Leap, Alex Miller, Tim Munyon, Lane Morris, Randal Pierce, Annette Ranft, Rhonda Reger, Anne Smith, Mike Stahl, and Dave Williams. Our faculty have published in top journals including AMJ, AMR, AMP, ETP, JAP, JBV, JIBS, JMS, JOM, ORM, Org Science, PPsych, and SMJ.
The Knoxville Area
Knoxville is located in east Tennessee, with a metro area of more than 500,000. It is just miles from the Smoky Mountain National Park, and is known for outdoor activities. Knoxville also enjoys a mild climate, an excellent downtown, and a very low cost of living. Knoxville is also home to several large corporations and is close to Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Application Procedure

We will not be conducting formal interviews at the Academy of Management conference in Vancouver. However, we encourage applicants to informally speak with faculty attending the conference.
