    Dear S-as-P community,

You are welcome to participate to the AoM PDW Bridging the Institutional and the Strategy-as-Practice Perspectives: Avenues for Future Research.

It is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Aug 8 2015 10:15AM - 1:15PM at Pan Pacific Vancouver in Crystal Pavilion Ballroom C.

    Here is a short description:

Drawing on the experience of well-established scholars and the active participation of the audience, this Professional Development Workshop (PDW) aims at developing bridges between the institutional and the strategy-as-practice perspectives in order to elaborate an agenda for future research. The workshop consists of three parts: (1) presentations from Professors Michael Lounsbury and Richard Whittington as keynote speakers. The speakers will discuss why the two perspectives are compatible and will explain how scholars can benefit from connecting both in their research; (2) five thematic round tables, each with a well- known scholar to represent each perspective will animate the discussion around the theme and will help participants developing ideas for future research; and (3) a panel discussion where participants and panelists will share the most promising avenues for bridging these two perspectives.

Participants are required to pre-register for the PDW and will be asked to select and sign up for one thematic round table: (1) institutional logics, discourses and strategy; (2) meetings and field-configuring events in strategy formation; (3) embedding strategy and institutions in materiality; (4) habituation and embodiment of practices in strategy formation; and (5) ontological and epistemological reflections in linking both perspectives.
Each round table will last 45 minutes and a maximum of 12 participants per table will be allowed. To register, please go to AoM website and send an email to the organizers.
