Theorizing Process Research: Perspectives in Conversation

While process studies have become an important part of organization and management research, the term “process” is still perceived as ambiguous and leads to confusion as to what is and what is not a process theory. The proposed panel symposium aims to add clarity to this debate by bringing together and spurring a conversation among the following five distinguished scholars in this area

· Paula Jarzabkowski, City University London
· Ann Langley, HEC Montréal
· Haridimos Tsoukas, University of Cyprus / University of Warwick
· Andrew van de Ven, University of Minnesota
In the course of this panel symposium, we will offer insights into (i) the most important contemporary issue in process studies, (ii) what constitutes a process study, and (iii) future opportunities and challenges. We will conclude the panel symposium with an audience Q&A.
