Please find attached an invitation and registration link to our next "Behind-the-Scenes" session, to take place online on Thursday Jul 16th 2026, 4pm (UK).
This session is a Special Edition talking about 'Getting Conference Ready'. Your hosts will be Carola Wolf (University of Liverpool) and Stefanie Habersang (Leuphana University of Lüneburg).
Conferencing can be a very energizing and joyful experience. However, it can also easily feel exhausting and overwhelming, esp. if you are new to a specific community, or if you are attending a particular conference for the first time and don't know what to expect.
Looking behind the scenes, we will use this seminar to informally explore challenges such as how to best go about networking, what to expect such as different event formats and opportunities to meet, how to get the best out of a conference in terms of feedback on your work, making new connections, getting new inspiration for your work etc. We will draw on examples from the upcoming AOM annual meeting, but our discussions are addressing general issues beyond just one specific conference.
