The SAP Mentoring Program starts a new cycle in 2026. After connecting 15 mentor-mentee matches in 2025, we now look for mentors to kick off the new program
What is the SAP Mentoring Program?
The SAP Mentoring Program is a collaborative initiative between the AOM and SMS SAP communities. This program offers a unique opportunity for early-career scholars (ECS) within the SAP community to engage in three in-depth conversations with senior scholars on topics of their choice. The goal is to facilitate deeper discussions beyond the usual interactions at major conferences, creating space for meaningful engagement and learning.
Program Highlights:
- Topics: Discussions can cover a range of subjects, from practice theory and strategy to philosophical or methodological issues, as well as career guidance.
- Matching Process: ECS will be paired with senior scholars based on shared research interests, career objectives, and personal compatibility.
- Duration: Each mentor-mentee pair will have up to three meetings (online or in-person), with one meeting optionally held at the AOM 2026 or SMS 2026.
What's involved as a mentor?
As a mentor, you will play a vital role in guiding and supporting ECS in the SAP community. You'll share your expertise and help mentees navigate their academic and professional journeys, offering insights on research, career development, and future opportunities. Providing constructive feedback-whether on research or career decisions-will be an essential part of your mentorship role, empowering mentees to reflect on their academic journey.
We are seeking committed SAP members and senior faculty who are willing to volunteer their time to mentor one individual up to three times per year (approximately 2-3 hours in total). While the minimum commitment is three meetings per year, additional interactions are encouraged based on your availability.
