'Behind the Scenes' of Highly Cited Organizational Ethnographies:
Unwritten Challenges (Session #14249)
Please join Tina Dacin, Madeline Toubiana, Hatim Rahman, and Katie Stephenson for the 9th iteration of the Behind the Scenes PDW, where we generate rich conversations about ethnographic work in organizational contexts. This year's theme - "Unwritten Challenges" – is inspired by the fact that much of what ethnographers struggle with never makes it into print; instead, it's passed along through mentorship, in-person conversations, and communities of practice. Think of the emotional residue that lingers after immersion, the ethical judgment calls no protocol prepared you for, or the small representational choices that shape whose voice a reader ends up hearing, among many other concerns.
We'll dig into these unwritten challenges across three rounds:
