The College of Business at the University of Rhode Island (URI) invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in Strategic Management, with an anticipated start date of Fall 2026 (negotiable). We seek an accomplished scholar with a strong record of impactful, high-quality research, demonstrated teaching excellence, and evidence of academic leadership who will contribute to the College's continued growth and reputation. The successful candidate will join a collegial and research-active faculty and play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the Management area and the College of Business.
Responsibilities
· Conduct high-quality research with an emphasis on publishing in top-tier, peer-reviewed management journals.
· Teach undergraduate and graduate courses with a 2-2 teaching load in Strategic Management and related areas.
· Mentor and advise doctoral students and junior faculty, contributing to a vibrant research environment.
· Provide intellectual leadership and help shape the strategic direction of the Management area.
· Engage actively in service at the department, college, and university levels.
· Contribute to the broader academic community through editorial boards, professional associations, and other disciplinary leadership.
Qualifications
Required:
· A Ph.D. in Strategic Management, Organizational Theory, or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited (or equivalent) institution.
· A sustained record of research excellence, demonstrated by publications in top-tier, peer-reviewed academic journals, a strong scholarly reputation, and evidence of an active and productive research program.
· Evidence of excellence in teaching and mentoring at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
· Demonstrated professional leadership and service to the academic community.
· Strong written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred:
· A robust research pipeline demonstrating potential for continued high-impact scholarship.
· Experience mentoring Ph.D. and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) students.
· Evidence of effective academic leadership or program innovation that enhances research or teaching excellence.
· Active engagement in the scholarly community through editorial boards, professional associations, or conference leadership.
· Evidence of success in securing external research funding or grants.
