Dear SAP community:
We are pleased to share the outcomes of the recent three-year review of the Strategizing Activities & Practices Interest Group (SAP IG) conducted by the Division and Interest Group Relations (DIGR) Committee of the Academy of Management.
We are delighted to report that the SAP IG has been formally renewed for another three years. You find the IG's Strategic Plan and the DIGR Committee's feedback here.
The review recognized SAP as a vibrant, innovative, engaged, and global scholarly community that is based on the breadth and quality of our year-round programming. The DIGR Committee also commended the SAP Interest Group for fostering a strong sense of community and for developing innovative forms of scholarly engagement that serve as a model for other Divisions and Interest Groups within AOM.
At the same time, the review offered several constructive recommendations to guide our continued development over the coming years. In particular, the committee encouraged the SAP IG to sharpen the communication of the IG's intellectual identity.
We welcome this thoughtful and supportive feedback, as it is fully aligned with outcomes of past surveys and participatory strategy workshops. The review process provided an important opportunity for reflection on who we are as a community, what we value, and how we can continue to evolve in ways that best support our members and the broader scholarly field.
As an executive team, we are committed to addressing the recommendations raised in the review and to building on the strengths identified by the DIGR Committee. In the coming months, we will continue work on communicating the IG's intellectual positioning.
We would also like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the review process-especially Silvia Sanasi and Lorenzo Skade who were part of three-year review team, but also all members who participated in the surveys and participatory strategy workshops that formed the basis for this process. The positive outcome of the review reflects the collective efforts, energy, and commitment of the SAP community as a whole.
We look forward to continuing this journey together and to further strengthening SAP as an inclusive, intellectually vibrant, and globally connected scholarly community.
All the best,
Matthias Wenzel
