The 11th Annual Entrepreneurship as Practice (EAP) Conference will be hosted by The Brett Centre for Entrepreneurship at The University of Liverpool Management School in Liverpool, United Kingdom, from 7-10 April 2026.

The theme for this year's conference is "Entrepreneuring and Knowing From the Inside: A dialogue between entrepreneurship processes and practices".

    Why Join Us?

This year's Entrepreneurship as Practice Conference is the largest academic convening of process theory and practice theory scholars in the field of entrepreneurship, bringing together scholars, students, practitioners, and keynote speakers from around the world. It offers opportunities to engage with world-leading researchers, participate in rich discussions, and connect with colleagues advancing work in entrepreneurship studies, new venture creation, technology-based entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial support organizations, social entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial pitching and social impact among other research themes.

    What to Expect?

    This year's program will feature:

    • Parallel research paper sessions with discussants
    • Expert methodological panel discussions (interactive conversation format)
    • Keynote presentations from leading entrepreneurship scholars working on expanding the horizons of our field of research and practice

    The Keynote Speakers include:

    • Professor Jeffery S. McMullen from Imperial Business School whose research on entrepreneurial action offers opportunities for rethinking entrepreneurship in a changing world
    • Professor Raghu Garud from Penn State University who has pioneered the use of 'process-research' within innovation and entrepreneurship.
    • Professor Boukje Cnossen from Leuphana University Luneburg whose research on organizing practices in the arts and other creative settings opens new ways of thinking about the role of space and materiality in bringing new social collectives into being.
    • Albert Read who is the current Non Exec Chairman of The Standard and Former Managing Director of Conde Nast UK. He is also author of the bestseller "The Imagination Muscle".

    Social Events

    • Exciting social events including Networking and Dinner at the Beatles Story Museum (Day 1) and a Conference Gala Dinner at Victoria Gallery and Museum (Day 2)
    • Book launches for "A Very Short, Fairly Interesting and Reasonably Cheap Book About Entrepreneurship" written by Mike Zundel and Christian G. Johnsen and "Social Entrepreneurship in Practice: Learn how to create and manage a successful social enterprise" edited by Zeineb Djebali

It is possible to participate in this conference and discover more about 'process' and 'practice' theorizing even without a 'paper'.
